Every week I try to focus on one part of our store, one part of scrapbooking that is appropriate to the season, or that can open new doors to new scrapping wonders.  This week we are focusing on CU Elements.  As I was thinking of how this applies to us as scrappers, I realized that every element on a page is what makes the page. Without each individual element, the page does not tell a story. And just like elements, each part of a family comes together to tell the entire story.  It’s not often we are all together, but that doesn’t make each person in our family any less a part of our story.

I wanted to create a very special layout this week, and I knew exactly the elements I wanted to tell my story on my page.  I did not want to buy full scrapbooking kits for a layout that was more story, more pictures, than elements.  At the same time, I wanted those exact elements to tell my store.  This is when I realized that our CU Elements section was exactly what I needed.  The CU store is not just for Designers, it’s for people like me that just love to scrap.

Earlier this week I wrote about the loss of our beloved Beowulf. While not my dog, like our friends stationed here with us, he was a big part of our extended, Army family. I have a dear customer, a dear friend, that always encourages me to scrap my personal notes.  Sandi, this layout is for you:

I started the layout with one of the fabulous Lots & Lots templates by Heartstrings Scrap Art. I used both the scissors and the soccer ball from Valentina’s Creations Vintage Old School commercial use mix:

I used the fabulous hand-painted sunflower cluster from Fancy Bird Design’s Autumn Mix (CU 28):

Finally, I added a little touch of love with Manu Scraps Charming Hearts commercial use charms:
