I know I’m probably preaching to the choir, but did you know that CU products aren’t just for designers? Yes, they tend to be priced higher than PU stuff, but most designers will put their products on sale when they release them PLUS there’s always a good sale to be had during the year. But if that isn’t enough, you can get the at rock bottom prices when they are in the process of being retired (75% off … not bad at all).
So, why would a scrapper want a CU product? What immediately comes to mind as stash builders are the flowers, foliage, and brushes. BUT what about some overlays? Say you have a kit with some artsy products in it, but the papers just don’t fit what you’re trying to do. Well, let me show you just what you can do, quickly and easily, with just 2 CU products.
I’m going to use one of my Gessoed Pages Overlays (2-3) and a paper from one of my CU Mash-ups (3-5).
I created a new file sized for a full size paper (3600 x 3600 x 300). I then dropped in my overlay (it’s an underlay today) and then pulled in the paper on top of it. I set the paper layer blend mode to Linear Burn and the opacity to 50%.
And that’s it … super simple. I now have a cool, new artsy paper to use for my layout. If you want to see it up close and personal, just click ***HERE*** or on the sample below. If you want to try it yourself, I’ve put both my Gessoed Papers 1 and Gessoed Papers 2 on sale for 40% off for one week. My CU Mash-ups are always priced to sell at $3/ea.
And now a look at what’s new and on sale in the CU department at theStudio …
That’s it for this week … HUGS!!!
I love deep texture on pages. I need to check out the gessos.
I really need to make more of those. I haven’t done them lately because we’ve been having so much rain and the humidity really has an effect on the drying time. My craft room isn’t all that big, so I don’t have much room to spread them out, so I have typically taken the out to the garage to dry out.
