Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! That’s me going cuckoo for cocoa puffs. I love Dane to pieces (look at him, who wouldn’t?) but he is five now. And five. Five is the terrible two’s, times five. Actually, none of my kids were terrible at two. They were funny, adorable, still manageable and they took naps!
Five. At five they all got stubborn, ornery, obstinate and defiant. Urgh. Dane has been such a beautiful, easy-going, loving boy I had a glimmer of hope that he wouldn’t be five at five. Sigh. He’s sooooooo five. He’s also still beautiful, occasionalyl easy-going, and most definitely loving. And stubborn, ornery, obstinate and defiant.
I took a little extra time yesterday afternoon and asked his teacher about it. Either he’s perfect at school, or his German is so broken they aren’t noticing it, his teacher was shocked Dane wasn’t perfect at home. I think she has a little crush on Dane, he can be very gentleman-y when he wants. It appears at school he wants. How I wish I could figure out how to make him want at home.
Oh, I give up. I know every single one of you is looking at this picture right here and not believing a word I just typed. That’s okay, he is beautiful and loving too. He’s also five.
