This time of year is all about Football, Cole, Football, Cole, Football.  .  Football sucks the life out of me.  If I’m not chauffeuring the boy, I’m running around replacing cleats, mouth-guards, wrist-guards, socks, tape, you name it. Then there’s the cookie baking & pasta cooking for fund raising & team dinners.  And. Just to make life extra fun. We’ve added custom crepes to our Football Support.

Crepes are a fixture here in Germany.  Wherever you go, fests, downtown, the food trucks in front of our markets, there’s almost always a crepe guy.  My kids love crepes! Nutella crepes being the favorite, of course. But at 3 – 4 € a pop, that started getting expensive quick, especially at the beginning with Christian still home and him & Cole needing two each.

Then we discovered crepe pans at Real (our Target). One day they went on sale & I stocked up on not 1, not 2 but 3 crepe pans.  I can now crank out crepes for a small army quickly & easily at home.  Plus, it’s fun!  You pour on the batter, twirl it around with a special T-shaped stick, and TaDA! Crepes for the whole family for less than one at a food truck.

Cole, in his infinite wisdom and confidence in my time management abilities, mentioned my crepe making skills & equipment to Coach. Who told team mom, who asked me;

“Will you run a crepe booth during home games?”  What do you say to that? Of course I said yes, then recruited a horde of young teenagers to help me run it.  Friday night we had a sleepover, with crepe making school tossed in for fun. Making crepes IS fun!  The girls had a blast, and the next day I had my tiny horde ready to rule the booth.
