A quick post today. I’m busy building Easter eggs to hide in the store tomorrow, and painting eggs at home with the eggs. It’s an eggstra-special day!

The biggest problem with having kids in different schools, is different Spring/Easter breaks. We had no overlap this year. Tess had a week, followed by two weeks for Dane, followed by a week for Cole. Sigh. I just can’t win.

Luckily the weather has been gorgeous! Sunny, warmer, beautiful. We’ve been getting outside almost every day. My favorite day was gardening day. My garden looks so much cleaner, happier and flower-y-er! The kids favorite day was a late afternoon at the Skate Park in our neighboring village. Over the years we’ve accumulate a lot of different skateboards, long boards and wave boards. We gathered them all up and headed over to the skate park.

In case you are thinking of getting a board for your kids, skip the long board. Neither of my kids liked it, and I don’t remember any of the big boys riding it much. Dane loved the plain ol’ regular skateboard, though he spent more time thinking about riding it than actually riding it. Tess has always loved her wave board and I’m still amazed she can balance and wriggle and move that board on just two tiny wheels. This is not a skill I possess.

We headed home just as the sun was going down, and I had Dave stop so I could take some pictures of the fields outside our village. It’s incredibly beautiful, peaceful and every time I want to pinch myself at how lucky we are to have called this our home for so long.

Dane maybe doing a ramp. Maybe.

I wanted a close-up. I got a close-up.

I get knocked down. I get up again!

And the church steeple peeking through.

The drive home.

The fields are already starting to grow
