Sometimes I take a photo I love. Sometimes it’s a great photo. Sometimes I just love it because it was a good day, a good moment, a good memory. And then OF COURSE I want to scrap it. But. I don’t. I don’t want to ruin it by making it small or covering it up. What I want is for that photo I love to shine.
Fall is hands-down my favorite season, so it’s no surprise that I have a lot of Fall photo’s I love. I picked this one because the field, barn & trees by my scottish cows is my happy place here. I wanted to showcase my happy place, and as just part of a layout, a photo in a frame, it didn’t work for me. So I turned some of my favorite leaves into photoshop brushes & made a big, page width, photo mask.
I slipped in my favorite fall photo of my happy place & created a clipping mask:
After that it went lightening fast! I still have Angel’s amazing October Anthology: Fall Frolic on my desktop and I quickly added in some of my favorite elements & word arts to complete my layout:
However. I waffled. Because. That barn in the field? Angel has the perfect frame to match it in Fall Frolic! I dropped it in & added on of my best friends. I’m still not sure which layout I like best.
Hit me up in the comments & let me know which one you like best? And just for getting all the way to end of today’s Quick Tip, I turned my Page Width Photo Mask into a Quick Freebie!
Both LOs are beautiful, better one with an additional photo. Thank you for the mask and tutorial.
I like the second one with the photo, but the first is also nice. Thank you for the mask.
Thank you for the mask
Thank you for the mask! I like the layout additional photo.
Thank you for the mask.
Thank you so much
Love the depth it adds to your full page photo to have that great cow and frame.
Thank you for the mask. I like the 1st one best. It is not as busy and you can enjoy the beauty of the scenery better. Hugs, DeLoris
I love both layouts. But, I have to be honest…I’m kind of partial to any page that includes a “cow” <3
And thanks for the free mask!!!
Both layouts are beautiful … thank you for sharing the mask!
WOW!!! No contest!! Hands down… I love the one with the Sasquatch looking bull in it!!! It is SO cool, because you can just imagine that majestic beast making his way down that path right into your arms… ok.. .maybe not that, but yeah… what a cool layout, I can even see his warm breath misting up that cool crisp autumn air. ♥ ♥ ♥ Hugs to you and Sasquatch bull ♥ ♥ ♥
I like the page sans Scottish bull. But he’d make a great layout by himself! Thanks so much for the photomask.
Thank you for the mask!
A Beautiful photo of the Highland cow, they are beautiful creatures and very hardy also. Love your layouts (both) but have to go with the Highland Cow. Thank you for the mask.
