Berna Datema of Berna’s Playgroung started her carreer as a Dutch fashion designer and designed the artwork and surface patterns for women’s and children’s clothes, both within companies and as a freelancer. Berna also writes and illustrates children’s books from slendertailed meerkats to leopard cubs. Berna is a digital scrapbook designer since 2004 and worked with several websites. Since 2019 she is again doing a lot more illustrating work and she tries to write and illustrate a lot more than before.
Berna lives 45 kilometers North from Amsterdam with husband Harry, son Noah (1998) and daughter Laila (1996). Berna loves everything about the sea except for jellyfish when she wants to swim. She studies Chinese Mandarin and does freelance work as an artist/illustrator next to designing scrapbook. Her favorite programs on her PC are Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
‘Seeing the Beauty Again’ or STBA is a collection I developed during the toughest days of the Covid-19 virus. When the lock-downs seemed to make everything that was fun and pleasant and natural so out of reach. Now that most countries are opening restaurants, public places, their parks and beaches and even their borders again, more and more of the things we reached out for for such a long time are or will be soon reality again. I think for some people it doesn’t work coming close to each other again, but with the new rules, we can at least meet each other, go places again, feel that well earned freedom again.
I hope that one day we will all again be able to visit friends, have a job, go places, have fun again. This all is the Seeing the Beauty Again collection.
Here’s a little freebie for you today, Enjoy!!!
