It’s time for Custom Collection Sundays… on a Tuesday! We are almost back on schedule here, the fun will continue! What is a Custom Collection Sundays? It is a chance for each of you to request a Custom Collection from one of our Designers. Every week one person wins their request.
On September 28 Gail Wilde won her request for a POSITIVE collection specifically for people with disabilities by Nibbles Skribbles and me:
I have not seen a realistic, POSITIVE kit about the many ways those of us who are disabled strive to stay physically -and- mentally fit. I’m not just talking about the Para-Olympics, but other things as well. My right foot has painful problems that make it very hard to walk. (My body doesn’t tolerate pain meds) Two small strokes made me a bit disoriented. Under my desk is a little pedal/cycle machine that I’m using right now- a gift from my daughter and son-in-law. Next to my apartment are the winding lobby stairs, and I walk down and back up those stairs at least once a day. Also, at the urging of my neurologist, I do puzzles, sudoku, etc., read a lot of ebooks (so many free ebooks are available), and of course, digital scrapbooking, genealogy, and more. Most of us know at least one person who is disabled, and it would be interesting to see how others cope, also.

This week we have a little sneak peek from our soon-to-be-released Think Positive:
It is time to pick a new Custom Collections Sunday winner! I had quite a few fabulous request to choose from:
I’d love a realistic Scottish collection, something that looks like a visit, and nothing bright or cutesy. I was thinking of soft colors, deep earthy ones and gentle lighter ones. Maybe weathered earth textures, stone, scenic papers, and textile textures like a subtle woven plaid, tweeds, heathered aran knits with cables… I thought elements could include things Celtic/Scottish, definitely including heather and thistle. It seems like it would need several pieces of metal; fixtures, jewelry, weapons… Oh, and tea and scones, maybe?
from:
Congrats to Bryony for having her idea selected! I live in Southern California so I know I will be able to use some of the same elements.
I would love to see a modern sewing kit. Current style sewing machine, thread spools, scissors, rotary cutter (current tools), bobbins, a touch of quilting, pin cushions, embroidery, decorative stitches, fabric bolts, denim, lace, linen and tulle. I love the look of the wire dress forms. Colors would probably be black & white along with current brighter colors – chartreuse, plum, dazzling blue, etc. Thanks for the chance to see a kit like this!
from:
I would like to see a kit for Girl Scouts. (I know, I already won a collection…not trying to be greedy…and this is a repeat suggestion.)
Colors would be the colors of the vests. WA would include something like leadership, respect, friendship, honor…
Thank you for letting me express my ideas!
And the winner this week…. Rae!
I would love to see a Autumn Rustic/Country Wedding Theme…. The colors are gorgeous and tying it in with items like burlap and lace and autumn flowers ( or autumn colors) would be gorgeous. You don’t see many kits with this theme and with my daughter and a few friends getting married with this theme… I would love to do some pages for them and create a memory book for them

Min, Carin Grobe Design, is already hard at work on your fabulous request!
Very important note: I will post a new winner every week, however, please do not expect your Custom Collection to be ready within a week. Scrapbooking Collections take time, and that time varies by Designer. Some of our team are full-time designers, others are part-time. Some are new mommies with littles at home, and others are Grandmothers. Some of us are both.
I cannot wait to see the requests this week, please post away your biggest wishes in the comments below. Comments are open to everyone. New comments, and repeat comments are welcome. I will post a new winner next week, along with a new release & a sneak peek!
My brother’s been playing rugby since he was fifteen. That makes almost 30 years!! He met my sister-in-law while both played rugby and now, even my niece plays rugby. So the word is RUGBY. lol
I’d love to give them a little present, using all the images I have but it’s difficult to find a kit about this sport. There are lots of them about football, soccer or other sports but not this one.
Just in case I’m lucky enough to win, my brother’s team colors are blue and white.
Thanks so much for this chance!!
Thank you so much!! I am so excited 🙂 Min does amazing work!
My suggestion is for a kit about theater. Many people enjoy school plays, community theater, and/or even Broadway productions. Besides the usual comedy/tragedy masks, there are many parts of a production, i.e. scripts, costumes, wigs, stage sets, lighting, sound, music, actors, rehearsals, directors, etc. There are also many related terms that would make great word art. I think most any multi-color palette would work. I hope one of your talented designers has some interest in theater and would like to take this on. Thanks for the opportunity to suggest.
Congrats to the winner this week. I love that idea of an Autumn Rustic/Country Wedding Theme!
Thanks,
Joyce
I am requesting a country western theme with horses, cows, sheep, llamas, goats, western tack, hay, straw, etc.
Thank you.
Congrats to this weeks winner, I’m sure your collection will be amazing! I for one am anxiously awaiting the upcoming “Think Positive” collection, as I have a severely handicapped & medically fragile little boy.
I’m still on the lookout for a wedding kit which would feature plenty of dark green (no yellow in the green) papers, along with a few touches of yellow and pink; but mostly white flowers and wedding elements. I want to do an album (at least 20 pages) from my daughter’s wedding photos.
It seems like I find the perfect color of green in Christmas kits, but it would be a much-appreciated luxury to work from one kit for both papers and elements!
Oh my, I love the preview of “Think Positive” !! Really looking forward to seeing the entire kit…
I would be over the moon for something relating to the movie “Frozen”. My 6-yr old granddaughter loves Elsa and Anna along with everything else in “Frozen”, as well as all of her friends and family (kids and adults). She is also in a singing and dancing class that are now practicing for their recital based upon the movie “Frozen”. My little Catherine also wants her December birthday party a “Frozen” birthday party and wants me to make her invitation cards to send out–of course they have to be “Frozen” related. Catherine would never want to go home if a “Frozen” kit were on my computer. She loves playing with some of my digital scrapbook kits which I love seeing her interest at her young age. She would be so excited to sit next to me as we designed her invitation cards.
I would love to see a Frozen collection too!!
“Warm Hugs!!” 🙂
I would like to see a kit for Girl Scouts. 🙂
Colors would be the colors of the vests. WA would include something like leadership, respect, friendship, honor…
Thank you for letting me express my ideas!
I’d like to repeat my request/suggestion for a girl Elf on the Shelf kit. Traditional Christmas colors with the girl elf in different poses. And a pretty outfit or two…(interchangeable would be awesome!)
Thank you for the chance!! 🙂
I would like to see a kit dedicated to single Moms. So many kits revolve around family and include Mom and Dad. I would like to see one centered on Mom and child relationship. With a single Mom often the grandparents become extensions of the family so something including Mom, child(ren), son, daughter and grandparents (often grandfather called Papa by children of single parents)
I think I posted in the wrong area… my bad 🙁
Oh my! What a fabulous idea! So many wonderful designers with so many different techniques… and the ideas! Scrumptious! I have scoured everywhere I can think of and no where can I find any kits geared towards Anime… my grandson and his girlfriend are so involved with Anime, from college Anime clubs to dressing in character for the Boston Anime Convention every year. I would love to do a memory scrapbook for them with a series of pages with Anime motif with many of their pictures from conventions and their favorite characters and books. Hopefully posting!!
