10 years ago, on our honeymoon, my husband and I visited the Canadian side of Niagara Falls (this was absolutely incredible, and if you ever have the chance, go. So, when the Westberry family suggested we take a day-trip to Switzerland to see the Rhine Falls (the largest waterfall in Europe), how could we say no? So, Dave, Nick, Mike and I loaded up and headed out! The falls were gorgeous, the water was clear, the landscape serene, and the surrounding buildings adorable! The weather was perfect, and we truly enjoyed taking in the view. After a few hours of walking, Dave and Mike decided to take a break while Nick and I hiked down to the base of the falls. This took waaaaayyy longer than expected, but it was so incredible. We were close enough to reach out and touch the water, you couldn’t hear each other talk the roaring was so loud! Seriously. Gorgeous.

As we made our way back to the car, we had one important stop to make. The bridge and the fish! See, hours earlier, Dave had purchased some delicious fresh popcorn, and had saved the last of it to feed the fish! I’ll admit, this was pretty neat, the fish went crazy (and there were a lot of them). With the fish finally fed, we headed back to Germany – and food!

Now, a lot of people laugh at me when I tell them this next part, for dinner, we stopped at McDonalds. For those of you who don’t know, McDonalds in Germany is VERY different than McDonalds in the USA. My go-to drink at any McDonalds is a Mocha Frappe, and the one in Germany was one of the best blended coffees I’ve ever had anywhere. The burgers weren’t your typical fast-food style, they were delicious – it was definitely an experience to go to a fast food place like this in another country.

After dinner, we had one stop left to make – The World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock in Triberg. This was just one of those neat things that you don’t want to miss when you travel. There are actually 2 clocks here, the one pictured directly below, and then another one that allow you to pay a Euro to hear it play music and dance for you – I have included a video of this for you to enjoy as well!
