I forgot! Lost in the shuffle, in all things Westberry, Nicholas came home last month. Nick is our second oldest, and it had been more than a year since I last held him in my arms (50th Wedding Anniversary). Dave was luckier and had seen him during his exile in the states (Crickets).
Now Nick is home until his enlistment is complete. My heart is already racing at the thought of another son on the battlefields. I don’t want to talk about it. I am beyond proud of him, but on the inside, in the quiet of the night, alone in my head, I am terrified. I am just going to be doing some extra hugging & bonding while I can.
Now we are all caught up, the last months I’ve had six kids at home. Not my original six (Soren & Christian are missing) but Nick, Cole, Tess & Dane and extra’s Elly (Boo’s, Booland Designs, daughter) and Nestor (Extra #5,673, 212). Until last night. Last night I took Elly to the airport and she flew back home to England. To Boo. Away from me. Away from us. I’m not sure who is sadder, me, Elly or the hamster.
Before she left we ran out at sunset for one last photoshoot, I tried so hard to get all six in one shot. Alas. It was not to be. Nestor was at work. Dave had put Nick to work. It’s the neverending story at our house. A constant shuffle of kids, of extra’s, of never being quite able to capture all in one moment. It’s okay. We have lots of great moments. Some of them captured!
I absolutely LOVE all these wonderful captured moments, especially as I was missing my girl so much. It helped me feel a little closer to her, these and our late night facebook banter, lol. Thank you Toiny and the Westberrys for taking such good care of my girl and giving her an amazing experience she will treasure all her life. By the way, she is missing Gingerbell and Mochi A LOT lol. xxx
Great photo shoot!
Always love your photos and your thoughtful journaling. Today I was amazed at how much Cole (without the long hair and facial hair) looks like your husband. Handsome young man…who looks happy with his girlfriend.
