Hello Everyone! I’m Aimee Harrison and I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’ve grew up here but I’ve also lived in Portland OR, Mount Kisco NY, Las Vegas NV and Port Richey FL. But I’m back in Grand Rapids and I love my hometown the best! But, I’ll admit, Portland is vying for the top spot!
I live with my boyfriend of five years, Tyler, and we also have his 13 year old son, Tyson, for part of the year. I do not have any children of my own. We are great animal lovers and have an assortment of animals. We have 1 cat, 1 rabbit, 2 rats, 3 guinea pigs, 1 snake, 5 turtles, 1 bearded dragon, 2 whites tree frogs and a variety of cool insects. I know it sounds crazy but we love them all. In fact, as I write this, I have Peanut the guinea pig in my lap!
I ventured into the digital realm after having scrapbooked with paper for fifteen years. I first began designing digitally in 2009 and in December 2010, Toiny asked me to design at the Studio! After a few years I took a short hiatus but came back in 2015 and haven’t stopped since!
My favorite Collection that I’ve made is hard to determine because I have quite a few that I’m rather partial to. But I personally love Canyonlands. It reminds me so much of when I lived in Las Vegas. I would drive around and explore the desert and I loved it!
The Studio is the one store that I have been with the longest. I would describe it as professional, fun and incredibly creative. I love how they have always inspired me to do things that I never would have considered. It has been an absolute joy to work here with Toiny, Angel and the crew.
I was asked what Children’s Character I related to the most. Well, it’s hard. I relate to Sleepy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs because I have Narcolepsy and I am always sleepy, lol. But I also relate to the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz because as I get older, I forget things so much more easily, just ask Tyler lol! Regardless, I think that I have a bit of both in me. And I have no problem with that. It’s how I am and I quite like me.
I am so honored to be the first in this series. I can’t wait to read about my fellow designers and learn a bit about what makes them tick!
