Back in January I wrote a fun little Quick Tip on Mixing Patterns. Today I want to expand on that Quick Tip and mix patterns and stash (stash = digital scrapbooking supplies).
As we dive into Fall, and Winter, warm colors & cozy plaids become a go-to for many of us. Not just in our clothes, but in our scrapping too. It’s almost as if scrapping with warm & cozy papers will come through the screen to heat us in our chairs.
For many of us, especially as we start scrapbooking, we don’t always have everything we need for a particular layout in our stash. Or do we? Sometimes just thinking outside the box gets us just what we want, with what we already have.
I’ve been wanting to scrap these two pictures of Cole forever:
They were taken on a beautiful Fall day, with gorgeous Fall colors, that are barely visible in these two photo’s. I wanted a page that showcased that day, despite the actual Fall colors not being in the photo’s. I decided to embrace the mixing patterns Quick Tip, and go full warm & cozy plaid. I’m so glad I did!
I also embraced my mixing stash concept. I went with what I already had to create a layout I absolutely love. Of course I started with a (free!) template by Just Because Studio, as well as:
- A Rustic Christmas Plaid Papers by Aimee Harrison
- A Rustic Christmas Kit by Aimee Harrison (the two background papers)
- Flowers & foliage are from our CU Facebook Hop for DSD2021
- Word Art is from our Authentic October Mega
