This is what Pixel Giraffe has to say about herself.

“Hello and welcome to my store! Visit at your own peril, since scrapbooking is highly addictive -I can tell by own experience. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, since it gets even weirder: My designs are not easy to classify. Once you think you know me… You may find whimsical doodles, messy mixed media, and artsy designs here, but usually with a huge splash of watercolor somewhere, since I love that medium. Still here? I’m Maaike, and I grew up with a huge passion for expressing myself. As a child, it was mostly by writing (I also loved singing, but had no talent. I mean at all.). Later I picked up a pencil and a brush. Around 2010 I started making digital journals and photo albums, because I disliked my stories, drawings and journal pages were all over the place. Around the same time I also started experimenting to draw and design in Photoshop. I really loved it and for once my pages, no matter how grungy, sticky or thick, all fitted neatly in a printed album. I think it wasn’t before 2014 that I realized that I wasn’t the only one with this weird hobby, since there was an actual name for it: Digital scrapbooking. They had even shops that sell designs to create your pages. I’d seen a little bit of scrapbooking before that, but unlike a lot of people around here, I was never into hybrid scrapbooking. Moreover, I never linked my expressive, artsy and quirky pages with those cheesy ones with bright colored buttons, bows and ‘cute’ pictures that made my tooth enamel decay at an astronomical rate. I felt right at home now! I started selling my designs around 2016 as soon as I got the opportunity after a designing challenge. So, you may say I am relatively new to this world, but thus far I’m staying in this ride! I live in the Netherlands with my husband, kids, and dog and work in healthcare. When I’m not busy with friends or family you can probably find me designing. If there is any time left, I love reading and traveling.”
