Way back in 2013 mama4bears won our LayOut Artist (LOA) contest and joined our CT.  And thus began my friendship with my dear friend Pam Saffle, Prairie Song Scraps. It is with a very heavy heart that I now have to say goodbye. Pam was welcomed into Heaven on August 23, 2024.

Pam added designing to her skill set and left our CT to join our Design Team in 2015, opening her store in February 2016. Since then she’s filled her store with her beautiful creations. One of her early page kits, Christmas Time, is one of my favorite Christmas kits. I absolutely love the mix of soft greens in this one. Her sense of color was truly remarkable, and it shone through in every one of her collections. Each piece was vibrant, filled with bold hues and an abundance of flowers, two elements she deeply cherished. Her love for color and nature was not only evident but celebrated in her work, making her designs a joyful expression of the things she was most passionate about.

The last couple of years, I struggled with my health. Despite her own struggles, or maybe because of them, Pam reached out frequently with a little note of encouragement, camaraderie or a prayer. It felt good to know I wasn’t alone, that there was someone else, someone who understood. It didn’t feel good that Pam had her own struggles. I am thankful she no longer struggles. I am thankful she is at peace. I am thankful I had Pam in my life.

There are a lot of joys in being a part of the digital scrapbooking community. Saying goodbye is not one of them, but seeing our team come together to say goodbye has been a wonderful way to ease the griefing. These past weeks we’ve worked together to create an incredible collection A Tribute to Dreams to celebrate Pam’s life. All the proceeds from this collection go to Pam’s family to offset the funeral costs.

 

I took a little time to play with the A Tribute to Dreams collection. It is a joy to “unwrap” and discover. I used only the Traditional version in my layout. I’m hoping for a little time tomorrow to play with the Artsy version as well.
